Changes to the Online DS-160 Application

As part of the Department of State continuous effort to improve customer satisfaction, the Department has developed and released several new features with the DS-160 Online Application. 

The new benefits include:

• Applicants can now save and retrieve their partially completed DS-160 application from the online database by entering the application ID and providing identification number.  This allows applicants to save their progress, collect required information, and return to the application at a later date to complete the online form.
• Applicants can now recover from an application or session error.  Applicants who lose their connection with their DS-160 can recover their partially completed applications from the database be entering their application ID and providing identification information.
• The U.S. Embassy or Consulate can nor reopen or unlock a submitted DS-160, allowing the applicant to complete or correct their application.
• Applicants can now retrieve a submitted application and print or re-print their confirmation page.
