Ambassador Anthony Wayne and General Guillermo Galván Galván Meet to Discuss U.S.-Mexico Security Cooperation

Mexico City, November 10, 2011 -- As part of his ongoing series of calls on senior Mexican leaders, U.S. Ambassador Anthony Wayne today met with the Secretary of the National Defense (SEDENA), General Guillermo Galván Galván, at the latter’s headquarters.  The two reviewed the deepening cooperation between the two countries’ militaries and evaluated results of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Merida Initiative, as well as discussing ongoing U.S. support for Mexico’s security forces in their important struggle against violent Transnational Criminal Organizations.  They also discussed upcoming senior-level exchanges and visits in Mexico and the United States.
