Joint Statement from the January 10, 2011 meeting of the NAFTA Free Trade Commission (FTC), in Mexico City, Mexico
"We have recently marked seventeen years since the entry into force of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Since 1994, trade has blossomed, investment has increased, and all three countries have become more competitive. From 1993 to 2009, trade among the NAFTA countries has more than doubled, from $288 billion to $701 billion. Each day the NAFTA countries conduct nearly $1.9 billion in trilateral trade. The benefits of expanding trade have flowed to businesses, farmers, workers, and consumers.

EHSI special agents rescue 9 human trafficking victims and reunite 2 mothers with their children kidnapped by traffickers in Mexico
MIAMI –U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents rescued nine female victims of sex trafficking and arrested four traffickers who were charged in a federal indictment Tuesday in the Southern District of Florida. Additionally, two children held captive in Mexico in an effort to coerce their mothers to prostitute in the United States, were reunited with their mothers in Miami after being rescued.
