IMPORTANT NOTICE: VISA INFORMATION AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Mexico City, August 29, 2005 — As part of our ongoing effort to improve visa services, we are pleased to announce an improvement in our procedures for applicants and others seeking information about Immigrant and Non-Immigrant Visas. Effective September 1, visa information can be obtained by calling the following telephone numbers:
Calling from the United States:
011-52-477-788-7070, at a cost of 50 Mexican pesos per applicant, plus Mexico’s 15 percent value added tax (IVA), plus long distance charges per call, for holders of Mastercard or Visa credit cards; or
For information about Immigrant Visas and Category “K” and “V” visas only: 1-900-476-1212, at a cost of US$1.25 per minute, to be billed to the caller’s telephone bill.
Calling from Mexico
01-477-788-7070, at a cost of 50 Mexican pesos per applicant, plus IVA, and long distance charges per call, for holders of Mastercard or Visa credit cards; or
01-900-849-4949, at a cost of 12 Mexican pesos per minute, plus IVA; or
Callers can obtain a PIN number from Banamex for 115 Mexican pesos to dial the Visa Information Center at 01-800-112-8500.
As of September 1, visa information will no longer be available from the following telephone numbers: 1-900-329-5520 and 1-900-849-7474.
Visa information in both English and Spanish may be obtained on Mondays through Fridays, from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. U.S. Central and Mexico City time. Operators cannot discuss individual visa cases. These services are provided by the Computer Sciences Corporation, in partnership with Teletech Holdings, Inc. Complaints will be accepted at no charge by calling
01-800-719-2525 in Mexico.
The United States Consulate in Ciudad Juarez is the only U.S. government facility in Mexico that processes Immigrant Visas (the consulate also processes Non-Immigrant Visas, including categories “K” and “V” visas).
