Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte Visits Mexico

Mexico City, October 29, 2007 — “I am pleased to announce
that U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte will
arrive to Mexico City today for an official visit. He will
participate today and tomorrow in a series of meetings with
Mexican government officials, community leaders, and members
of the media. This visit comes at an historic moment in the
U.S.-Mexico partnership, as we begin broader discussions on
the Merida Initiative strengthening and making more secure
the region on both sides of our shared border.”
