By giving the 2005 Partnership for Prosperity Good Partner Award to Hewlett-Packard of Mexico and to the Mexican small business and financing firm Patronato Pro Zona Mazahua, we are acknowledging the positive role companies on both sides of the border are playing by investing in Mexico’s future and in Mexico’s most important resource, its people,” said U.S. Ambassador Antonio O. Garza.
“Hewlett-Packard and Patronato Pro Zona Mazahua received the 2005 Partnership for Prosperity Good Partner Award today during a ceremony held in the U.S. Department of Commerce Hubert C. Hoover building in Washington, D.C. U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez and Mexican Minister of the Economy Sergio Garcia de Alba each presented the awards to Carlos Guzman Bofil, President of Hewlett-Packard Mexico, to Patronato Pro Zona Mazahua founder Jeannette Arriola Sanchez, and to the firm’s president, Ramon Sordo,” he added.
“Presidents Bush and Fox created the Good Partner Award in 2003 as part of the U.S. - Mexican Partnership for Prosperity Initiative to acknowledge businesses that make positive contributions toward social progress and economic opportunity in Mexico. Hewlett-Packard was recognized this past year for its role in supporting education and social programs that have helped more than 136,000 people in Mexico.
