Passports and Citizenship Unit Will be Temporarily Closed

Mexico City, October 6, 2005 - The Passports and Citizenship Unit of the Embassy of the United States of America in Mexico City will be closed for all routine services including notarials, from October 10 to 14, 2005, for an American holiday and for an office construction project. Other Embassy services are not affected. Existing appointments for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBAs) only, will be seen in room 101. In addition, the Unit will be open for limited hours for all routine services starting Oct. 17, 2005 until further notice due to the ongoing construction. For emergencies during this period, please contact the office of Citizens and Consular Services in Room 101 or please send information by fax at (55) 5525-5040.

Furthermore, the U.S. Embassy and its consulates will be closed on October 10 due to Columbus Day, a U.S. national holiday. Normal activities will resume on Tuesday October 11.
