American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)
AILA is the national association of over 8,000 attorneys and law professors who practice and teach immigration law. AILA Member attorneys represent tens of thousands of U.S. families who have applied for permanent residence for their spouses, children, and other close relatives to lawfully enter and reside in the United States.

Center for Comparative Immigration Studies (CCIS)
CCIS is an interdisciplinary, multinational research and training program devoted to comparative work on international migration and refugee movements.

Center for Immigration Research (CIR)
CIR seeks to study the consequences of current immigration trends in order to inform decision making concerning international and national immigration policies, as well as to disseminate information to local institutions, organizations and policy-makers involved with the settlement and incorporation of America's "new immigrants" into their communities.

Center for Immigration Studies (CIS)
CIS is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit research organization devoted exclusively to research and policy analysis of the economic, social, demographic, fiscal, and other impacts of immigration on the United States. It is the Center's mission to expand the base of public knowledge and understanding of the need for an immigration policy that gives first concern to the broad national interest. The Center is animated by a pro-immigrant, low-immigration vision which seeks fewer immigrants but a warmer welcome for those admitted.

Center for Migration Studies (CMS)
CMS, founded in New York in 1964, is one of the premier institutes for migration studies in the United States. It is committed to facilitating the study of sociodemographic, historical, economic, political, legislative and pastoral aspects of human migration and refugee movements. CMS is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) with Special Consultative Statusto the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. CMS is in charge of the publication International Migration Review, an interdisciplinary social science quarterly published by CMS since 1966.

Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)
CSIS has been dedicated to providing world leaders with strategic insights on —and policy solutions to — current and emerging global issues.

Information Resources for U.S. –Mexico Migration Issues
The following is a list of selected online resources for research and current awareness of U.S.-Mexico migration issues. Compiled by Molly Molloy, New Mexico State University Library.

International Labour Organization/International Migration Branch (MIGRANT)
MIGRANT’s goal is to assist countries in policy formulation, and in establishing or strengthening legislation, administrative measures, structures and practices for effective management of labour migration. The activities of MIGRANT focus on three component objectives: Protecting the rights of migrant workers and promoting their integration in countries of destination and countries of origin; Forging an international consensus on how to manage migration; Improving the knowledge base on international migration.

The ILO International Labour Migration Database has been developed to make information on international migration widely available. This sort of information is usually difficult to obtain, although it is of great value to promote knowledge-based debate on migration policy issues. It is based on responses of ILO member states to a questionnaire survey mailed in 1998 to obtain basic data on stocks and flows of migrant labor.

International Migration (IM)
This website offers information on international migration from a variety of perspectives, inlcuding documented and undocumented migration, refugees, etc. It places special emphasis on US-Mexico migration. It also offers links to other sites on the subject.

International Organization for Migration(IOM)
IOM acts with its partners in the international community to: Assist in meeting the growing operational challenges of migration management; Advance understanding of migration issues; Encourage social and economic development through migration, and Uphold the human dignity and well-being of migrants.

IOM produced a Glossary on Migration to consolidate into one definitive text the terminology used in the migration field to provide a reliable reference for practitioners, government migration officials, students and others.

Migration Dialogue-Migration News (MD)
MD provides timely, factual and nonpartisan information and analysis of international migration issues through five major activities: the newsletters Migration News and Rural Migration News, Changing Face and other Research & Seminars.

Migration Information Source (MIS)
MIS provides fresh thought, authoritative data from numerous global organizations and governments, and global analysis of international migration and refugee trends. A unique, online resource, the Source offers useful tools, vital data, and essential facts on the movement of people worldwide.

Mexican Migration Project (MMP)
The MMP is a multidisciplinary research effort between investigators in Mexico and the United States. It has offices, in Mexico, at the Departamento de Investigacion sobre Movimientos Sociales of the University of Guadalajara and, in the United States, at the Office of Population Research of Princeton University.

Migration Policy Institute (MPI)
MPI is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit think-tank in Washington, D.C. dedicated to the study of the movement of people worldwide. MPI provides analysis, development, and evaluation of migration and refugee policies at the local, national, and international levels. It aims to meet the rising demand for pragmatic and thoughtful responses to the challenges and opportunities that large-scale migration, whether voluntary or forced, presents to communities and institutions in an increasingly integrated world.

National Immigration Law Center (NILC))
NILC is a national support center whose mission is to protect and promote the rights and opportunities of low-income immigrants and their family members. NILC staff specialize in immigration law, and the employment and public benefits rights of immigrants. The Center conducts policy analysis and impact litigation and provides publications, technical advice, and trainings to a broad constituency of legal aid agencies, community groups, and pro bono attorneys.

Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Develpment/Trends on International Migration(OCDE)
The analysis of trends in international migration includes the monitoring and analysis of trends in migration flows, focusing on the economic and social aspects of migration and on control and regulation of flows; integration of immigrants; and international co-operation in the control of flows and their contribution to the development of origin and host countries.

Pew Hispanic Center(PHC)
PHC's mission is to improve understanding of the diverse Hispanic population in the United States and to chronicle Latinos' growing impact on the nation. The Center strives to inform debate on critical issues through dissemination of its research to policymakers, business leaders, academic institutions and the media.

Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights / Committee on Migrant Workers (CMW)
The Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families (CMW) is the body of independent experts that monitors implementation of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families by its State parties.

UNESCO / International Migrations and Multicultural Policies
The overall aim of UNESCO's programme on International Migration is to promote the respect for the human rights of migrants, and to contribute to peaceful integration of migrants in society.

United to Secure America (USA/SECURE)
USA/SECURE AMERICA is a national coalition that believes that immigration should be in the national interest, and that to protect all Americans, we must restore integrity to America’s immigration system and effectively enforce our laws.
