American Citizens Services
Notarials and Authentications / Apostilles

Notary services are offered by appointment only.  Appointments are offered weekly from 2 to 4pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  If you have multiple documents to be notarized you will still only require one appointment for that day.

Click here to connect to the Notary Service appointment system.

Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment in order to allow sufficient time to pass through Embassy security.

Please bring the documents to be notarized, proof of identity such as a passport or driver's license, and cash in U.S. dollars or the Mexican equivalent as follows: US$30.00, for the first notarized document, and US$20.00 for each additional document to be notarized. There is no fee to notarize U.S. Government documents. There is also no fee to make an appointment.

You must arrange for your own witnesses, if necessary. The Embassy can only notarize signatures, and cannot vouch for the veracity of the content or the authenticity of a notarized document.

Authentications/apostilles:

The U.S. Embassy and its consulates do not issue apostilles. An apostille must be obtained from either the state or federal authority in which the U.S. document was issued. Please click on the following link for apostille information for documents originating in the U.S.:
