Feature:  The Mr. Amigo Award for 2004 was presented this year to the popular singer and telenovela star Dulce at the Benjamin Franklin Library on January 24. Following the ceremony, Ambassador Garza hosted a reception for the group at his residence.

Feature:  On a January 20-21 trip to Guadalajara, Ambassador Garza met with members of the Lake Chapala Society; inaugurated the new children’s wing in the Franklin Library at the Business School of the University of Guadalajara; and donated more than 20,000 fire suits to Mexico’s National Forest Commission in the name of the United States Forest Service.

Feature:  Ambassador Antonio O. Garza Jr. presented his personal greeting card to Mexico's First Lady Marta Sahagún Fox with best wishes for the Fox family and all the Mexican people during the holidays and throughout the new year.

Feature:  Ambassador Antonio O. Garza Jr. hosted a breakfast and a Mexican posada for children of the "Casa del Niño Feliz" and the "Casa La Vida" on Saturday, December 13. The Embassy Marine Guard Detachment, on its part, handed out toys as part of its "Toys for Tots" program.

Feature:  Ambassador Tony Garza hosted a reception on June 3 to celebrate the signing of the formal agreement between the Mexic-Arte Museum of Austin, Texas, and CONACULTA, which expands the Museum's mandate to promote Mexican art.

Feature:  U.S. Ambassador Tony Garza visited with patients and staff at FEMAP's "Hospital de la Familia" in Ciudad Juarez . Garza lauded FEMAP's integral approach to community development, saying, "It is programs like FEMAP which are empowering local inhabitants to break the cycle of poverty."
