IMPORTANT NOTICE

  • The Passports and Citizenship Unit (Room 106) of the Embassy of the United States of America in Mexico City will be closed for all ROUTINE services including notarials and minor passport renewals on the afternoons of December 8, 12, and 24, 2014. 

    For emergencies during this period, please contact the Office of Citizens Consular Services in Room 101 or please send information by fax at (55) 5525-5040.  We regret any inconvenience to you during this time.

Please select the service you require, follow all instructions, and make an appointment if necessary. If you are outside Mexico's City Consular District, please contact your nearest Consulate or Consular Agency.

RENEWING A PASSPORT FOR A MINOR? 

Come to renew your child’s passport without an appointment! Simply come to the Embassy  any day we are open (see our Consular Calendar)  between 1:30-2:30 pm ONLY (you must enter the Embassy by 2:30 pm) and you will NOT need to schedule an appointment! Keep in mind that passports take four weeks to receive, so please plan accordingly.Click here for complete details, including what documents are needed.

RENEWING FOR AN ADULT?

If you meet these requirements, you can drop off your renewal application at any time. We recommend you arrive between 11am and 2pm to avoid our busiest periods.
