Ambassador Garza Highlights Vibrant Cooperation Between the U.S. and Mexico

Mexico City, September 4 - "Cooperation between the United States and Mexico remains vibrant in many aspects of the bilateral relation," said U. S. Ambassador Antonio O. Garza, Jr. while receiving a van to transport American senior citizens who reside in Mexico City.

Ambassador Garza stated that "the efforts of both countries are complementary in many aspects and that not only are they concentrated on collaboration with regard to political, environmental and commercial matters, but they are also directly concerned with the welfare of people" in both countries.

In this specific case, thanks to the collaboration of the American Benevolent Society, a non-profit civic organization that has operated in Mexico for many years, and the Nacional Monte de Piedad, a van was acquired so that American senior citizens could be transported to the activities that take place at the Benevolent Society

Ambassador Garza y Sergio Álvarez Ducoing, Managing Director of the Nacional Monte de Piedad, along with Mexican religious representatives.

Upon receiving the bus, Ambassador Garza commented that "as Honorary President of the American Benevolent Society, I am very pleased to see that this transport service will allow American senior citizens to integrate themselves more fully into the community and improve their quality of life."

Ambassador Garza thanked the Nacional Monte de Piedad for its invaluable cooperation in facilitating the purchase of the van.

Following the ceremony, the Ambassador toured the facilities of the American Benevolent Society, including the library and recreational areas.
