Ambassador Garza signs a collaborative agreement with the National Autonomous University of Mexico

On March 8, 2004, Ambassador Garza signed an agreement that establishes the Henry David Thoreau Chair, as an interdisciplinary professorship to promote knowledge in multiple areas of interest for both countries. “Today, through the signing of this accord, we formalize our collaboration with UNAM invoking the multidisciplinary and visionary spirit of Henry David Thoreau,” said Ambassador Garza, who presided over the event with Dr. Juan Ramon de la Fuente, Chancellor of UNAM. “This is an event that is not only important in substantive terms, but also as a symbol of the mutual respect that we share.”
